Research Committee

The Research Committee conducts research projects that assist PAR in its mission to strengthen the capacity of providers to provide quality supports and services to individuals with autism or intellectual disability. The committee also reviews and provides recommendations on any research proposals brought to PAR for consideration, which include those that propose university or student research proposals. The committee chair is Dr. Scott Spreat who is a researcher and acts as the Principal Investigator for PAR's research efforts. Committee members vary according to the type of research the committee engages in.

Dr. Scott Spreat is the President of Woods Research and Evaluation Institute, having previously served as the Administrator of Clinical Services and Vice President for Behavioral Health. He is a member of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disability’s Terminology and Classification Task Force and served in the work group that developed the definition of Intellectual Disability. Dr. Spreat received his doctorate in Educational Psychology and is a licensed psychologist who worked for Temple University’s Woodhaven Center, conducting research, directing the clinical services department, and serving as the Executive Director of the 284-bed program before coming to Woods in 1992.
